As fall begins here in Colorado, I bring you this week’s Suzy Stumbles Over Travel. In case you are new to this site, each week I ask bloggers/writers and readers to submit their favorite travel posts of the week. This can be from your own site or another writer’s piece. I read each submission, comment, tweet the article on Twitter, stumble the piece using Stumbleupon and post a link to the article on my Facebook page. The following week I select my five favorites to be featured here and the stumbling begins again into the next week. Just a few things to keep in mind, please only submit one Continue Reading
Catedral de Mallorca Wishes You Were Here
The day was long and my feet throbbed with every step forward. Putting one foot in the front of the other was a struggle on my last day in Mallorca’s capital city of Palma de Mallorca. I saw its major architectural landmark only in passing and under the cover of night. It glowed in a way churches in Europe always seem to at night with an inextricable gleam of magic. Anyone gazing upon them must believe in something. By the daylight, I was less than enthused to enter yet another church in Europe, but this was Palma’s big cheese, the Catedral de Mallorca. Perched in the old town of the city, Continue Reading
Redhead Reviews: New York Harbor Champagne Cruise Using GetYourGuide
Full Disclosure: I received a complimentary tour from GetYourGuide in exchange for this review. These are my opinions about the experience. Yours may vary. Clichéd songs about New York blast over the intercom as I board a bright yellow boat. I’m not completely certain what I have gotten myself into on a Sunday night in New York. We set sail to the screechy voice of our guide telling us about what we are seeing and what we will see. I somehow drown out the background noise and get lost in New York at night, all while sipping on cheap champagne. This is the life. What is Continue Reading

Let Travel Be: The Dangers of Travel Comparisons
From my balcony view, I saw eye-sore block buildings in the distance. I popped a green olive in my mouth to the whiff of nearby trees they no doubt came from before the jar. You could hear a few screaming Italian babies as the sun began to set, probably angry to leave cluttered sands for the camper van. I felt a long way from anywhere I had ever been and a long way from anywhere I really wanted to be. I had grand ideas about what some isolated, undiscovered destination would be. It was going to be my secret and ended up being a place I couldn’t wait to leave. I recently came across an Continue Reading
8 Easy Pieces For Fashionable Travels
Packing is a pain, or so I often hear. Having always loved packing for trips, from what suitcase would be best to what goes inside my bag that will be best for my destination, I could pack in my sleep. I am usually part of a select few who share this passion for packing. And those hours or weeks before a weekend away or three months away can be utter pandemonium. The last thing we consider is often the most important. Is the person that I have packed in my suitcase the one I want to show to the world? I prefer to look the part of a destination and feel comfortable at the same time. I don’t Continue Reading
San Antonio, Texas Wishes You Were Here
There is something about the human condition and the underdog story. Whether it is a sport’s team cast as the underdog, the team without any chance to win or a historical tale without hope on paper, being stacked up against the odds and fighting back romanticizes a world that at times can seem very far from romantic. I rise early to see Texas’ ultimate underdog, the Alamo. Rain is starting to drizzle, hence the tourist ponchos making an appearance. I turn the corner and in the truest of underdog fashions, the Alamo lends those feelings of being inadequate. The small little façade of the Shrine Continue Reading
