A day late due to a wedding and a road trip, I bring you this week’s Suzy Stumbles Over Travel. In case you are new to my site, each week I ask writers and readers to submit their favorite travel posts of the week. I read each submission, comment on the article, tweet the post on Twitter, stumble it using Stumbleupon and post a link to the piece on my Facebook page. The following week, I select my five favorites to be featured here and the stumbling begins again into the next week.
A few things to keep in mind please leave your submission in the comment box below this article. Your submission should be travel related. Please only submit one post per person each week. You have until the end of the day on Friday to leave your submission here. Be sure to follow me on Twitter, subscribe to my stumbles on Stumbleupon and “like” me on Facebook to make sure I give your pieces the attention it deserves.
The 5 Favorites of Last Week
“Spreading Our Child’s Wings” From This Is My Happiness
Submitted by Jenna
Jenna shares the ways in which traveling with her son has truly helped him grow as a person. He might be young, but more and more “grow-up” travelers should embrace the perspective and insight gained from a child’s standpoint on traveling.
“Ask the Experts: Couchsurfing Advice with Áine Goggins” From Travel Edits
Submitted by Fiona
Fiona interviews Áine Goggins, host of an Irish language couchsurfing show. A great idea for a TV show indeed, Goggins shares just what it is like to couchsurf in so many different places and with a camera crew by her side.
“Freedom” From Hectic Travels
Submitted by Dalene
Dalene personalizes this post by sharing just what this traveling couple gave up to have a life of travel without the house with 3.5 bathrooms. She goes through the freedom travel has brought them and just how that freedom in traveling without so many possessions and mortgages gives a strange sense of joy.
“Are You Afraid To Travel?” From Odysseus Drifts
Submitted by Melanie
Melanie gives powerful perspective on travel and fear. While things can go wrong traveling and make you feel fearful or others keep telling you should be afraid to travel solo or go to such and such destination, Melanie provides insight on how that fear can still linger, but at the same time be a driving force to keep on trying for the impossible, or so the naysayer might say.
“I’m Moving to Panama on Tuesday. Why?… Why Not?” From I Like Going Places
Submitted by Alex
Alex makes a snap decision to leave a life of boredom and travel to Panama, indefinitely on Tuesday, to be exact. It seems as though I lot of travelers wish they could just up and go somewhere, leaving behind the hum-drum job to travel. Alex proves it is possible, even if the whole world around him might question his sanity.
Don’t forget to leave you submission for this week. You have until the end of the day on Friday to submit.
With TBEX this week, this isn’t your typical TBEX post. Sure there’s Vancouver, the TBEX convention, and my first photo shoot but this TBEX is about so much more for me.

Thanks so much for including me, Suzy! So many people read and follow your blog — and I’m always appreciative of when they then click on over to read something of mine. So nice of you to share your traffic! 😀
Have just been to read Jenna’s inspiring post – we have hopefully enriched our own son’s life with the trips we’ve had; I’m sure her boy will continue to have some fabulous experiences. And isn’t he cute!
I’d like to submit a post for this week. It’s a rather tongue-in-cheek one, regarding my tips for dealing with airports.

Hey Suzy,
Great picks as always! Alex’s post about dropping work to follow his heart really resonated with me, and that Irish show was such a cool find.
