In flight and a bit delayed this week as a result, I bring you this week’s Suzy Stumbles Over Travel. In case you are new to this site, each week I ask bloggers/writers and readers to submit their favorite travel posts of the week. This can be from your own site or another writer’s piece. I read each submission, comment, tweet the article on Twitter, stumble the piece using Stumbleupon and post a link to the article on my Facebook page. The following week I select my five favorites to be featured here and the stumbling begins again into the next week.
Just a few things to keep in mind, please only submit one post per person each week. Your submission must be travel related. Please leave a link to your post in the comment box below rather than sending it to me on Twitter, Facebook, etc. You have until the end of the day on Friday to leave your submission. Anything left past Friday will be carried over into next week’s submissions. I will get busy promoting the articles by the end of the day on Sunday. Be sure to follow me on Twitter, subscribe to my stumbles on Stumbleupon and “like” me on Facebook to make sure I give your post the attention it deserves. Check back here next Monday to see if your submission made my five favorites of the week.
The 5 Favorites of Last Week
“Snorkeling in Freezing Cold Silfra” From L’appel Du Vide
Submitted by Liz
Liz takes us snorkeling in Iceland of all places. After getting over the surprise that Iceland actually has some of the best snorkeling, Liz shares her freezing adventure below the water’s surface at Thingveller Park at Silfra.
“ANZAC Day, Gallipoli and “Why Are There So Many Aussies and Kiwis in Turkey!?” From The Most Alive
Submitted by Ash
Ash explains and observes ANZAC Day in Gallipoli, Turkey. He details the significance of the day for those in Australia and New Zealand, all while providing a gripping account of experiencing ANZAC Day in Gallipoli.
“The Digital Nomad’s Office” From The Working Traveller
Submitted by Shane
The Working Traveller provides a little inspiration from digital nomads around the world by sharing just what their office looks like on the road. From beaches to hammocks, the photographs show off traveling offices at their best.
“Death and Travel in Guatemala” From Travel Budget Couple
Submitted by Carlo and Geneva
Carlo and Geneva share a darker side to travel, when death faces you right on the road. While traveling through Antigua, Guatemala, the traveling duo experience a deadly bus-motorcycle accident, one that leaves them all the more appreciative of a life of travel.
“Culture Shocked!!!” From I Like Going Places
Submitted by Alex
Alex ditches the backpack for more luxurious travel for two weddings in Europe. He explores the many ways he experienced culture shock after going from dirty South American accommodations to feeling just like a king at a hotel. In the end he learns how much travel can make us appreciate all those little things in life we take for granted.
Don’t forget to leave your submission in the comment box below. You have until the end of the day on Friday to submit.

Recently came across your site through the twitterverse! I love this idea so here is my submission:
I would love everyone to know it’s not hard for people to travel, and money is certainly not an excuse (if budgeted properly). So I wrote a piece on how to start a travel fund
You want to travel more? It’s easy, start a Travel fund!

Hi Suzy,
Jeeez Luiz, I really got lost this time! I recently went to Singaproe for 2 weeks, where I minimized my blogging down to the bare neccessities- my regular weekly postings. From that, I got out of my regular weekly routines and… totally forgot to submit my stories! sorry. But, I’m back.
This post isn’t a narrative, but very useful budget tips for anyone visiting Singapore. Thanks, as usual, for your Stumbles. cheers, Lash

Hey suzy,
I’d love for people to see the interview I just did with my friend Leonie Quayle from FreeToBeKids about her travels to Uganda, what she experienced there and some of the organisations making a huge impact there regardless of the hype surrounding the kony2012 campaign that happened earlier this year…

Hey Suzy! Here’s us for this week:
We live-blogged a week in Galapagos! I would add a description here, but there are no words.

Submission from Diana…
Hi Suzy,
I have just recently come across your website as I follow you on Twitter. This is fabulous idea and I would love to share a post on Matera, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that’s slightly off the beaten path.

Hope you are enjoying your time in Europe!
Hi Suzy,
Thanks for sharing it here. Not sure why the comment didn’t go through the first time around.
Buon weekend!
No problem. Your submission was left on the wrong week but I caught it. I enjoyed revisiting Matera. It’s such a mystical place.
