Suzy Stumbles Over Travel: Week of July 25, 2011

July 25, 2011 By Suzy

As July draws to a close, I bring you this week’s Suzy Stumbles Over Travel. In case you are new to this site, each week I ask writers and readers to share their favorite travel posts of the week. I read each submission, comment, tweet the article on Twitter, stumble the piece using Stumbleupon and post a link to the article on my Facebook page. The following week I select my five favorites submitted last week and the stumbling begins again into the next week.

Just a few things to keep in mind, your submission must be travel related. Please leave a link to your post in the comment box below. You have until the end of the day on Friday to leave your submission. If you submit after Friday, I will just carry your submission over into the next week. Be sure to follow me on Twitter, subscribe to my stumbles on Stumbleupon and “like” me on Facebook to make sure I give your article the attention it deserves.

The 5 Favorites of Last Week

“Traveling along in India: Am I Crazy?” From The Shooting Star

Submitted by Shivya

Shivya battles the not so romantic aspects to traveling solo in India as she confronts the anxieties of all that can go wrong when she is by herself in this country.  In the end, she finds the romance to traveling solo in India, from the conversations with strangers to the accomplishment of hitch hiking up mountain roads all alone.

“The Road to South Korea” From Aussie On The Road

Submitted by Chris

Chris lends the reader an incredibly detailed piece about teaching in South Korea and how to go about getting that teaching job. From how to apply to visa requirements, if you are ever considering teaching in South Korea, this article will give you more than a few answers to any questions you might have.

Submitted by Kieron

The traveling duo of Don’t Ever Look Back decided to poll their favorite travel bloggers on advice for a round the world adventure. From planning to packing, if you are in the same boat as these two, just about leave for a round-the-world trip, you won’t get such simple and complete advice in on article anywhere else.

“O Little Town of Bethlehem—Part 1” From Wanderlass

Submitted by Lilliane

Lilliane shares her first impressions of Bethlehem, after being dropped off in the middle of it all. She takes a tour through the city and shares her first observations of Bethlehem, observations not in line with what she though the city would resemble.

“Vegetarian food in Germany? Yes, everywhere you look!” From Globetrotter Girls

Submitted by Globetrotter Girls

The Globetrotter Girls share some of their favorites German vegetarian staples. While I am not a vegetarian, their delicious descriptions and photographs had me considering forgoing schnitzel the next time I am in Germany for these options.

Don’t forget to leave a comment below with your submission for this week.

Had some issues with my first comment and link, so this might be a repeat.
Thanks again for choosing my post a few weeks ago! This week I have devoted one to the differences between me when I travel, and me when I’m at home.

One of the most controversial posts I have written. While many don’t like the title, the content has stirred up quite a debate!

About Suzy Guese

After a childhood of keeping road trips interesting around the U.S, stints in Western Europe as an angsty teen and a study abroad year in Italy in college, I decided to make traveling and writing my way of living. My travels are laced with hints of a redheaded temperament, proof that my hair color is indeed natural. SuzyGuese.com is where I solve packing predicaments, blurt out my travel secrets, rant about nomad injustices and share where the road takes me in hopes that it might take you there too.
