From somewhere over the Atlantic Ocean, I bring you this week’s Suzy Stumbles Over Travel. In case you are new to this site, each week I ask writers and readers to share their favorite travel posts of the week. I read each submission, comment, tweet the article on Twitter, stumble the post using Stumbleupon and place a link to the submission on my Facebook page. The following Monday I select my five favorites to be featured here and the stumbling can begin again into the next week.
Just a few things to keep in mind, please only submit one post per person each week. Your submission must be travel related. Leave your submission in the comment box below rather than sending it to me on Twitter, Facebook, etc. You have until the end of the day on Friday to leave your submission. Submissions left past Friday will be carried over into the next week. I will get busy promoting your articles throughout the week, with all stumbled by Sunday. Be sure to follow me on Twitter, subscribe to my stumbles on Stumbleupon and “like” me on Facebook to make sure I give your post the attention it deserves. Check back here next Monday to see if you article made my five favorite submissions from the week.
The 5 Favorites of Last Week
“Havelock, NZ: Lips, Shoes and Views” From Leah Travels
Submitted by Leah
Leah makes her way to New Zealand’s South Island to visit Havelock, land of green-lipped muscles. From its landscape, cuisine to random shoe displays, I found this slice of New Zealand captivating.
“When Travel Destinations Get Trashed and People Die” From yTravelBlog
Submitted by Caz
Caz explores the unfortunate side to travel as she deals with her own nationality making stupid mistakes while traveling that have cost them their lives. She looks at the problem going on across the party festival destinations with tragic accidents, reminding the young and invisible to be cultural respectful and smart no matter the atmosphere.
“Sunday Traveler: Troy Floyd-Portraits Around the World” From Everything Everywhere
Submitted by Troy
Troy shares a valuable guest post on Everything Everywhere. He provides us with a new subject matter outside of those class travel shots, people. As he progresses in his own people photography, Troy provides tips on how to capture these intense and emotional moments with people around the world.
“8 Things You Should Know About Syria That Your News Anchor Doesn’t” From The.Most.Alive
Submitted by Ash
Ash shines light on to the perceptions of Syria by the media and his own perceptions after having spent some time in the country. Dispelling myth after myth of what is presented across the TV screen, Ash provides a different look at Syria from a traveler’s perspective.
“The World of Coca-Cola in Atlanta, Georgia—Bottling Happiness Laced with Corn Syrup” From Travel Rinse Repeat
Submitted by John
John visits the fizzy soda-lovers paradise of the World of Coca Cola in Atlanta, Georgia. As he samples far more soda than I’m sure any dentist would like to know, he shares some nuisances of the site including a whole bar with Coke brands from across the globe.
Don’t forget to leave your submission in the comment box below. You have until the end of the day on Friday to submit.
