This Friday’s “Wish You Were Here” photo comes from Matt McCall, friend and now my enemy for he experienced sunrise over Mount Sinai and this was the result. This view did not come without struggle and strife. After a sleepless van ride, Matt arrived at 3 in the morning to hike Mount Sinai in Egypt. Heckling camel rides met him at the other end. With waves of refusal, he started the chilly climb to the top.
“Sunrise at Mt. Sinai was a surprisingly unearthly experience. I felt as if I were at the edge of the world, reconnecting to people who lived thousands of years ago.”

Stunning. I’ll bet sunset is just as gorgeous.
Wow, those are gorgeous photos! Sometimes you really do have to go to some effort to get outstanding photos. Which is probably why I’ll never be a professional photographer.
Very cool! Looks like an amazing view. I hope we’re lucky enough to catch a glimpse of a good sunset like that when we hike up Mt. Sinai next month.
Wow. Simply gorgeous. Just from these 2 photos, I can see why Matt felt as if he were at the edge of the world.
*sigh* So lovely.
I will be there one day.
There is nothing like the moment after hiking through the night and waiting on the chilling mountain top for an hour until the sun bursts through and begins to warm you and casts an orange glow on all the surrounding desert mountains. Incredible experience.
This is so stunning! I need to go to Mount Sinai next time I’m in Egypt again!!
