After traveling for pretty much the last month, I am back home and with antsy feet. As I figure out my travels for the next few months, I bring you this week’s Suzy Stumbles Over Travel. In case you are new here, each week I ask writers and readers to submit their favorite travel posts of the week. I read each submission, comment, tweet the post on Twitter, stumble the piece using Stumbleupon and place a link to the article on my Facebook page. The following week, I select my five favorite submissions to be featured here and the stumbling begins again into the next week.
Just a few things to keep in mind, please only submit on post per person each week. The article must be travel related. Leave a link to the piece in the comment box below. You have until the end of the day on Friday to submit your article. Be sure to follow me on Twitter, subscribe to my stumbles on Stumbleupon and “like” me on Facebook to make sure I give your post the attention it deserves.
The 5 Favorites of Last Week
“Have we been here before? San Francisco vs. Lisbon” From Globetrotter Girls
Submitted by Globetrotter Girls
The Globetrotter Girls visit Lisbon and can’t help but see so much San Francisco in this European city. Having spent time in the two cities myself, I was amazed at all of the comparisons this piece draws. Two places can be in such different countries, but share so many connections.
“Hopewell Rocks for Sunrise” From That Backpacker
Submitted by Audrey
Audrey gets up at the crack of dawn to see the Hopewell Rocks of New Brunswick. Aside from seeing a landscape so remarkable, Audrey also stresses the importance of rising early on our travels. Sometimes landscapes are best seen by their time of day.
“6 Things Stopping You From Travelling” From Pack Your Passport
Submitted by Beverley
Beverley outlines six reasons that tend to keep people from traveling. Rather than just being a list of careers, fears and money, Beverley points out how to overcome these obstacles and get on the road.
“Ten Things You Don’t Know About New York City” From The Gypsy Nester
Submitted by The Gypsy Nester
The Gypsy Nester presents ten things you might not know about one of the most visited cities in the world, New York City. Being in New York City last week, I was lucky enough to uncover some of their observations about New York such as the dirty rectangle and Whispering Gallery in Grand Central.
“We Get By With a Little Help From Our Friends” From The Lazy Travelers
Submitted by The Romantic and the Wino
The Lazy Travelers point out the advantages of having friends in high travel places. From France to Washington D.C., these travelers have made excuses to travel just based on knowing someone at those destinations. If you can’t figure out where to go, go visit a friend.
Don’t forget to leave your submission for this week. You have until the end of the day on Friday to submit.
