As it gets warmer in Denver, I bring you this week’s Suzy Stumbles Over Travel. In case you are new here, each week I ask writers and readers to share their favorite travel posts of the week. I read each submission, comment, stumble the piece on Stumbleupon, tweet the article on Twitter and post a link to the submission on my Facebook page. The following week, I select my five favorites to be featured here and the stumbling over travel continues.
Just a few things to keep in mind, please only submit one link per person each week. The article must be travel related. You have until the end of the day on Friday to submit your piece. Be sure to follow me on Twitter, subscribe to my stumbles on Stumbleupon and “like” me on Facebook to make sure I give your post the attention it deserves.
The 5 Favorites of Last Week
“Fitting in-Guadalajara, Mexico” From Over Yonderlust
Submitted by Erica
Erica experiences those feelings of fitting in while traveling. Most travel to find others unlike themselves, but finding yourself far away from home can be an even more powerful experience.
“First Impressions of Nepal” From Ordinary Traveler
Submitted by Christy
Ordinary Traveler puts you right into a first night’s sleep in Nepal. From ice cold showers to grumbling generators, one of travel’s other surprises comes to the table. You may travel around the world to be uncomfortable and restless, but you appreciate the little things even more in the process.
“Children of the Granite Mine” From Amateurs in Africa
Submitted by Benny
Amateurs in Africa highlight the lives of the children of the Granite Mine in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. In the middle of West Africa, the dangerous conditions of mines are peppered with perhaps some of the most joyous children. The video included in this post is particularly worth a watch.
“Reflecting on Cambodia” From What’s Dave Doing
Submitted by Dave
Dave reflects on Cambodia and its power to possess hope when there are so many hopeless factors in the country. He finds something I think we all look for when we travel, a place that challenges us yet defines human spirit and resolve.
“The Trip That Helped Me Walk Again” From The Life That Broke
Submitted by Lauren
Lauren shares a personal travel tale of overcoming physical challenges while traveling. I think we often consider travel to be so restorative for the mind that we forget it can also be just the thing the body needs.
Don’t forget to leave a comment below with your submission for this week. You have until the end of the day on Friday to submit.

Hi Suzy,
This week I’m submitting a post about diving at Tioman Island, Malaysia. I worked as Dive Master there one season guiding divers on Tioman’s gorgeous reefs, some of the best I’ve seen in Asia! Too bad it’s so little known- entirely eclipsed by Perentian islands to the north… well, maybe it’s better since tiomans’ reefs won’t become degraded as quickly…

As usual, thanks very much for the help ‘advertising’ us all! Much appreciated.
cheers, lash
